Tamara Johnson Howell – Chris Remington
Tamara is pleased and grateful for her long association with PYGmalion Theater Company. Recent parts with PYG include Mrs. Brooks in Mockingbird, Fioon in Weyward Sisters, Farida Azizi in Seven, Noleta Nethercott in Sordid Lives along with roles in Motherhood Outloud, The 12 Dates of Christmas, The Good Body, Welcome Home Jenny Sutter and Living Out. She has also been seen in Two Stories (Salt Lake Acting Co.) August Osage County (Utah Rep), I Oughta Be in Pictures (Utah Theatre Artists), Steel Magnolias and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Pinnacle Acting Co.). Tamara earned her BFA in theatre from the University of Utah. She is now a Jr. High Theatre Teacher (Junior High: where EVERY class is a “Drama Class”). She is thrilled to be in a play with her daughter, Maddiey for the first time.
Alexandra Harbold* – Alex Weedle
Alexandra is excited to work with PYGmalion again and to play Weasel. Previously with PYG, she performed in Living Out and Fat Pig, and directed the staged reading of Spark. Recent credits include directing Climbing with Tigers (Salt Lake Acting Co. in collaboration with Flying Bobcat and the Red Fred Project), Picnic (The Grand Theatre), Tribes (SLAC), acting in Two Stories (SLAC) and serving as dramaturg for An Inspector Calls and I Hate Hamlet (Pioneer Theatre Co.). Alexandra is Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director of Flying Bobcat Theatrical Laboratory. She earned her Masters at the University of London Goldsmiths College and her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Middlebury College. She is an alumna of SITI Company’s Summer Intensive, Plan-B/Meat & Potato Director’s Lab, and BADA’s Midsummer at Oxford.
Haley McCormick – Jann Leverich
Haley McCormick was seen last season on the PYGmalion stage in Julie Jensen’s Mockingbird and is pleased to be back. She has also recently been seen in Wasatch Theatre Company’s production of Wit, Noises Off at the Grand, and The Righteous and Very Real Housewives of Utah County, by Alligator Press Productions. Thank you to the cast and whole crew, Larry, Robin, Fran, my parents and husband Andy.
Max Huftalin – V.T. Winn
Max is a senior at Westminster College currently working towards a BFA in Theatre Performance. Past performances include Our Country’s Good (Ralph), Don Juan Comes Back from the War (Don Juan), Strangers, Lovers, Family, Friends (Kipling/Nathan), Last Night of Ballyhoo (Adolph), Children of a Lesser God (James), Elephant’s Graveyard (The Marshall), an excerpt from Waiting for Lefty (Joe), And Then There Were None (MacKenzie), Curtains (Frank Cioffi), The Diviners (Melvin), and Oliver! (The Artful Dodger).
Marcella Ivanna Pereda – Kim Luna
Marcella is a local artist excited to be working with PYGmalion Theater Company for the first time. Recent credits include Tiger Lily in Peter Pan at Utah Children’s Theatre and Gladys in The Skin of Our Teeth at The Grand Theatre. Marcella earned a BFA in acting and stage management at the University of Utah. University credits include Aphrodite in Metamorphoses, Annabella in Tis Pity She’s A Whore, and Mrs. Three in The Adding Machine.
Maddiey Howell – Remonda Zarkov
Maddiey is thrilled to be making her PYGmalion debut. Past credits include Luisa in The Fantastiks with Draper Historic Theater and Mrs. T/Bad Idea Bear in Avenue Q with Wasatch Theatre Co. She would like to thank her incredible family, Mom and Jen, and most especially Adam for all his support and patience. Enjoy the show!
Production Team
Robin Wilks-Dunn – Director
Robin is pleased to be directing this premiere, her second L.L. West show for PYGmalion, the first being the premiere production of Weyward Sisters for the Salt Lake Fringe Festival. Other directing credits for PYG include The Good Body and Last Lists of My Mad Mother. She also serves on the Board of PYGmalion. Other directing credits include numerous readings and productions at Salt Lake Acting Co., including David Kranes’ Loss of Appetite, I’ll Eat You Last, Good People, and Boom. She is pleased to have been part of SLAC’s playwrights’ lab for the last two years and is also a reader for the Davey Foundation play competition at SLAC. She co-wrote the production Live Well! that has been touring schools for four years. By day, she is the Community Engagement Manager for UtahPresents bringing arts to children and the community.
L. L. West – Playwright
L. L. West is a teacher, director and playwright. He has taught and directed at the University of Utah, Weber State University, Texas Woman’s University, Boise State University, International College – Ulaanbaarar, Mongolia and Wabash College in Indiana. He has directed over 200 university and professional productions in Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Minnesota, Texas, North Carolina, Indiana and Pennsylvania. His plays have been performed at UNLV (Peyote Jokes) Indiana University of Pennsylvania (Faust III), Utah Shakespeare Festival (workshop production of Whistler’s Mothers Son) and the Great Salt Lake Fringe (The Weyward Sisters). In June, Larry will direct an all-female production of Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus for Pinnacle Acting Co. As a champion of new plays and emerging playwrights, Larry was actively involved in the Sundance Theatre Lab. Currently he serves as Producer for Pinnacle Acting Co. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Weber State University and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Directing from the University of Oregon.
Jennie Pett – Stage Manager
Jennie is pleased to return to this position with PYGmalion Theater Company. She recently stage managed Wit (Wasatch Theatre Co.), Selma ’65, Hellman v. McCarthy and Motherhood Out Loud (PYGmalion Theater Co.) and has absolutely enjoyed the experience. She would like to thank her family for all the love and support.
Lighting Designer – Pilar I.
Currently the Production Stage Manager and Technical Director for Repertory Dance Theatre, Pilar graduated from the University of Utah in 2003 and has worked the last 20 years across the Wasatch Front in virtually every venue and with every arts organization. Pilar is excited to be returning to PYGmalion Theater Company, having previously designed over a dozen productions with the company. Pilar is a Journeyman Member of IATSE-Local 99.
Scenic Designer – John Cook
Nicholas Red – Scenic Designer
Nicholas studied fine art at the University of Utah and was introduced to scenic painting through a “murals” class, where he and fellow students painted backdrops for the university. Nicholas immediately fell in love with creating collaboratively on such a grand scale.
Sound Designer – Todd Olsen
Todd is proud to be part of R&W and producing his second sound design for PYGmalion Theater Company. Todd is also an actor, but feels his real strengths lie in directing and sound design. He attended the College of Eastern Utah and University of Utah. Todd’s first sound design for PYGmalion was The Weyward Sisters. He has designed sound for many Pinnacle Acting Co., including Arcadia, Proof , Blithe Spirit, Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me, The Seagull and Medea and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf. Favorite directing projects: The Last Night of Ballyhoo, King Lear, Picasso at The Lapin Agile, Fiddler on the Roof, Poseidon Adventure: The Musical!, Proof, More Fun Than Bowling, Endgame, Our Town and Romeo & Juliet.
