The Weyward Sisters opens November 3, 2017

The Weyward Sisters by L.L. West features the three witches from Shakespeare’s play Macbeth who hold a striking resemblance to the three fates of Greek mythology.  In Shakespeare’s play they are prophets who hail Macbeth and predict his ascent to kingship and perhaps his eventual downfall.  They represent evil, darkness, chaos and conflict and serve as agents and witnesses.  The witches have inspired many characters in film, art and music, including the three hippies in the 2001 parody film Scotland, Pa.  and  three teenage goth schoolgirls in Geoffrey Wright’s 2006 version of Macbeth.  J.K. Rowling cited the Three Witches as an influence in her Harry Potter series.
