The Weyward Sisters

November 3 – 18, 2017

by L.L. West
directed by Jeremy Chase
Featuring: Tamara Howell, Betsy West, Ali Lente, Barb Gandy, and Natalie Keezer

Leandra, Skye and Fioon are witches…good witches, but witches nevertheless. They have been hired by Thomas (Middleton) to perform in a new play (MACBETH) that he’s written in tandem with a playwright known to them as The Brad (Shakespeare). And yes, there seems to be some dyslexia at work here, so they believe him to be The Brad. Before and after each scene in which they are featured, we see the ‘weyward’ sisters in their dressing room. Not completely savvy to a theatre world, these three weird sisters try to understand how they fit into the fabric of this world…how they can contribute to the telling of this story…how they can possibly alter the outcome.

L.L. West – Playwright
L.L. West (Lary) is a retired teacher, a life-long director and somewhat of a newbie playwright. As a champion of new plays and emerging playwrights, Larry has been actively involved in the Sundance Theatre Lab. While at Texas Woman’s University, he created the Margo Jones Playwrighting Competition, Plays for and about Women. His plays have been performed at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (Peyote Jokes), Indiana University of Pensylvania (Faust III), and a workshop production at the Utah Shakespeare Festival (Whistler’s Mother’s Son). Pygmalion Theater Company will produce Larry’s new play, Remington and Weasel during our 2015-2016 season.
