This evening of “miscast” adventures helps support productions & performances by Pygmalion, with all proceeds going directly towards creating award winning performances that share stories through the eyes of women. This year, we’re celebrating PYG’s history and alumni with a mix of talent show, award show, and cabaret style evening.

When PYGs Fly 2016 is going to be really exciting. We are focusing on celebrating Pygmalion, all the people and shows that have made Pygmalion what it is over the years,” Lane Richins, director of this year’s event.

Local actors Dan Larrinaga and Brenda Sue Cowley will emcee the event, and performers include Barb Gandy, Dee Dee Darby Duffin, Tamara Howell, Jeanette Puhich, Jeremy Chase, Natalie Keezer, Michael Nielsen, Tracie Merrill, Fran Pruyn, Andrew Maizner, Mark Fossen, Barbara Smith, Holly Fowers and Richins himself. There will also be surprise guests added as the performance date gets closer.

“Pygmalion is the only theatre company in the valley with a dedicated mission of putting on quality plays that deal specifically with the female perspective. We are excited to celebrate that with ‘When Pygs Fly’!”

The event, which begins at 7 p.m., is pay-what-you-can at the door, with a recommended amount, and then money is raised on the opportunity drawings. Audience members are reminded to bring cash with them, but there will also be a Square reader available for credit and debit cards. “All the money raised is used to pay professional artists,” said Pygmalion artistic director Fran Pruyn.
